Mississippi Gulf Coast

Bonsai Society

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Bonsai Society was founded on March 22, 2002 by six Master Gardeners. Meeting the needs of bonsai enthusiasts of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, we welcome all who are interested in developing, cultivating and nourishing the art of bonsai.  At present, it is the only bonsai association in Mississippi.  This organization aspires to promote both the traditional and contemporary art of bonsai to the populace of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

We encourage membership in our local club, attendance at the demonstrations, lectures and annual basic bonsai courses.

Speakers from nearby bonsai clubs are often invited to our meetings which are presently being convened at MS. Gulf Coast Community College in the Multi-Purpose Educational Building (to the left of the Administration Bldg.) in Long Beach, corner of Espy and “B” Street (see Map).  While we are not associated with the College, we are deeply appreciative to the College for allowing us to meet at their facility.

Meetings are normally held on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM and generally last approximately 2 hours.

The contact person is Patrick LaNasa (228) 255-8735.
