"Better Homes and Bonsai" is Cheryl Manning's personal website. Manning is a member of several bonsai and suiseki clubs such as California Bonsai Society, Nampu Kai, Descanso Bonsai Society, Dai Ichi Bonsai Kai, Aiseki Kai, Kofu Bonsai Kai, and Santa Anita Bonsai Society. She is also a board member of the National Bonsai Foundation.
Cheryl edited the John Naka's Sketchbook (National Bonsai Foundation, 2005), a compilation of John's bonsai sketches from around the world.
John Naka, who passed on May 19, 2004, had a Memphis connection. He knew some members of the Memphis Bonsai Society and maintained an external membership with MBS.
Not to be missed on her website are "Sketchbook Stories" and "Art, Bonsai and John Naka".
