For those who were unable to attend- you really missed out on an informative and creative treat.  Darryl brought samples of his Suiseki with him and displayed them on two tables.  He went into the history of Suiseki (originally known and BonSeki, Stone on a Tray) and related to Tea House Ceremonies  dating back over 1400 years ago and then bringing the subject up to the present through Japanese culture.

He explained the many categories of stone classifications and showed us examples of those classifications by identifying them in his own stones. He also indicated what to look for when seeking  such stones and what makes them valuable. He answered the multitude of questions that were raised by the audience members.

He hauled heavy boxes of the precious stones in order to share this art form with the membership. Our thanks to Darryl for the enlightening and interesting presentation.
